A fire broke out in the storeroom of the mother and child health center at District Central Government Hospital in Nalgonda on Monday. The fire started when bleaching powder fell into leftover acid in a mug, causing smoke to come out. The fire was quickly extinguished by the hospital staff, preventing any major harm to the patients and property.

District Collector Karnan rushed to the hospital upon receiving the information. He spoke to the hospital superintendent, Dr. Lacchu Naik, to gather more details about the incident. The Collector emphasized the need for precautions to avoid similar incidents in the future and instructed the hospital officials and staff accordingly.

To ensure the safety of the large number of women visiting the outpatient department (OP), the Collector ordered the arrangement of additional OP counters. Accompanied by DMHO Dr. Annimalla Kondal Rao and other doctors, he took necessary actions to address the situation.
