Hyderabad: A fire broke out at the Park Hyatt hotel in Banjara Hills on Monday morning. The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) cricket team, who are in the city for their IPL matches, were staying at the hotel during the incident. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
The fire started around 8:30 am on the first floor, in the men’s section of the hotel’s spa. It was caused by a short circuit, which led to electrical wires catching fire. Thick smoke filled parts of the building, but hotel staff quickly noticed the fire and informed the fire department.
Firefighters arrived promptly and used extinguishers available at the hotel to bring the fire under control. The situation was handled quickly, and the fire was limited to only one area of the hotel.
Players from the SRH team, who were staying on the sixth floor, were safely evacuated. They were moved in private buses under tight security arranged by the hotel management and police. The team later checked out of the hotel as planned. Authorities are now reviewing safety measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
