Hyderabad: PCC President B Mahesh Kumar Goud criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he was pretending to care about the Kancha Gachibowli lands issue. He accused the Prime Minister of shedding “crocodile tears” without truly understanding the situation.
Goud responded to Modi’s comments about land at the University of Hyderabad (HCU). He claimed that the five buildings Modi recently inaugurated on the campus were built without proper permissions. He said they did not have approval from the municipal authorities, nor did they have forest or environmental clearances.
He also said that many trees were cut down on the campus after Modi came to power, and that large areas of forest land were handed over to corporate companies. Goud pointed out that thousands of trees were removed for Modi’s public rallies. He mentioned a case in Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, where 17,000 trees were reportedly cut down. According to him, the government admitted in Parliament that over 1.09 lakh trees were cut down in the past five years. Goud accused Modi of destroying forests to benefit businessmen like Adani and Ambani. He said Modi should learn the facts before commenting on the HCU land.
Earlier in the day, Goud also targeted the BRS party. He told former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and BRS working president K T Rama Rao to stop “daydreaming.” Goud said BRS leaders are worried because of the Congress party’s recent growth and development.
He also accused the BRS government of being involved in a large rice scam. Goud said KCR’s family was part of a scheme where regular rice was turned into fine rice and then exported. He questioned how BRS leaders could now talk about rice quality when they were involved in such activities.
