Hyderabad – The first group of pilgrims heading for the annual Haj pilgrimage received a grand send-off early Tuesday morning at Haj House, Nampally.
Syed Ghulam Afzal Biyabani Khusro Pasha, the Chairman of the Telangana State Haj Committee, officially launched the journey by waving off the first bus. The event was attended by several prominent figures.
Among the dignitaries present were Syed Azamthullah Hussaini, Chairman of the Telangana Waqf Board, Mohammed Obaidullah Kotwal, Chairman of the Telangana Minority Finance Corporation, and respected Islamic scholar Maulana Mufti Khaleel Ahmed.
Family members and well-wishers gathered in large numbers to say goodbye to the pilgrims, creating an emotional and spiritual atmosphere. The Haj Committee made all necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth start for the travelers.
This marks the beginning of the Haj journey from Telangana for this year, with more batches expected to depart in the coming days. The committee has planned detailed travel, accommodation, and support services for all pilgrims.
The Haj pilgrimage is one of the five pillars of Islam and is considered a deeply spiritual journey for Muslims around the world. Thousands from India travel each year to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia to perform this sacred duty.
Officials urged the pilgrims to focus on their prayers, follow guidelines, and maintain discipline throughout the journey to ensure a safe and fulfilling pilgrimage.
