Following China’s War Games, a US Warship Navigates Through Taiwan Strait.

China recently finished a three-day military exercise around Taiwan, which included precision strikes and blockading the island. This was done in response to Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen’s meeting with U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Kevin McCarthy. The U.S. Navy’s Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Milius made a “routine” transit through the Taiwan Strait on Sunday, just days after China ended its exercises. The ship’s transit demonstrates the United States’ commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific.
