Telangana’s IT Minister launched the JNTUH Global Alumni Meet 2025 at the university’s main auditorium. D Sridhar Babu spoke at the opening ceremony, which marks the institution’s Diamond Jubilee milestone.
The minister described the gathering as a meaningful reunion where past memories blend with future dreams. He celebrated how former students have elevated their old college from a small 1960s institution into a world-class university.
JNTUH graduates now work across multiple continents in prestigious organizations. They hold positions at ISRO, DRDO, leading research facilities, Fortune 500 corporations, and innovative startups worldwide.
Sridhar Babu praised engineers as natural problem-solvers who make impossible tasks achievable. He called on former students to actively participate in shaping the university’s future direction over the next ten years.
The minister proposed establishing a Global Alumni Council to boost student innovation programs, research projects, and mentorship opportunities. He promised that Telangana’s government would continue supporting educational institutions as a committed partner.
Modern technology demands require urgent action in student training programs. The minister stressed the critical need for re-skilling and upskilling initiatives, especially in artificial intelligence and emerging fields.
Telangana has launched several forward-thinking projects to address these challenges. The Young India Skills University and upgraded ITI centers now feature robotics and cutting-edge technologies to connect classroom learning with industry requirements.
The minister invited educators and alumni to contribute ideas for the Telangana Rising 2047 strategic plan. This ambitious document aims to establish Telangana as a major global economic powerhouse.
During the ceremony, Sridhar Babu recognized outstanding achievers and innovators. He congratulated 3D-photography specialist Shiva Ramakrishna and launched alumnus Phani Raj Kumar’s new book about AI-Powered Supply Chains.
Prof. V Balakista Reddy, who chairs TGCHE, praised the organizers for their excellent work on the two-day event. He emphasized that the 21st century represents a knowledge-driven revolution period.
Technology plays a crucial role in achieving both Telangana Rising 2047 and Vikasit Bharat 2047 objectives. India must supply skilled professionals to meet global demands in our technology-focused world.
The professor introduced the concept of Academic Social Responsibility (ASR), similar to corporate social responsibility. He urged educational institutions to actively contribute back to their communities and society.
Vice-Chancellor Dr T Kishen Kumar Reddy honored founding figures PV Narasimha Rao and A Madan Mohan who established JNTUH’s foundation. He emphasized building entrepreneurship programs that transform students into job creators rather than job seekers.
The university leader requested government assistance to improve infrastructure at affiliated colleges. Several other speakers, including former civil servant JRK Rao and alumnus I Ganapathi Reddy, called for specialized Centres of Excellence and financial support.
