The Moinabad police have arrested four individuals in connection with the brutal murder of a practising advocate at Kethireddypally village. The victim, G. Swapna, was allegedly killed by her elder brother and three accomplices over a long-standing dispute concerning ancestral property. The incident occurred on the morning of February 4 when Swapna, who practised law at the Chevella court, had gone to conduct a survey on agricultural land along with her mother Gotika Venkatamma. The accused have been identified as Gotike Raju, Swapna’s elder brother, along with Errolla Sandeep, Vadde Veeresh, and Kavali Shiva Lingam.
According to Chevella DCP Yogesh Gautam, the attack was meticulously planned and executed with extreme violence. After completing the land survey, Swapna and her mother were returning towards the road connecting Venkatapur and Nakkalapally when the accused allegedly arrived in a car and deliberately rammed into Swapna, causing her to fall into a pit. The attackers then allegedly assaulted her with sticks and stones before holding her down and slitting her throat with a knife. Despite her mother’s desperate attempts to raise an alarm and rush to her aid, Swapna had already sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot due to excessive bleeding.
The primary motive behind the murder was a protracted dispute over four acres of ancestral land between the deceased and her elder brother. The accused allegedly planned the murder to eliminate Swapna and seize control of the disputed property. Acting on information that the land survey was being conducted, the four men allegedly travelled to the spot in a car and on a scooter, carrying weapons including a sickle, and carried out the premeditated attack before fleeing the scene. The property dispute had been ongoing for a considerable period, ultimately culminating in this violent crime.
During the investigation, police successfully seized crucial evidence including a car, a scooter, four mobile phones belonging to the accused, and the weapon allegedly used to commit the murder. The swift action by the Moinabad police led to the arrest of all four suspects involved in the crime. The investigation is currently ongoing as authorities work to build a comprehensive case against the accused for the murder of the advocate.
