Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced in the Lok Sabha that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the 162-km Hyderabad North Regional Ring Road (RRR) is ready. This announcement came on February 5.
BJP MP Eatala Rajender raised a question, to which Gadkari responded by stating that the Telangana government will cover 50% of the land acquisition costs for this project.
The state government has also agreed to waive the royalty fees on minor minerals used for the road’s construction. Additionally, they plan to reimburse the State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) related to the project.
Gadkari shared that ₹367.17 crore is allocated to Telangana from the Central Infrastructure Fund this financial year.
Over the past six years, 1,904 km of national highways have been built in Telangana, according to Gadkari. During this time, 21 new toll plazas were also established.
The Hyderabad Regional Ring Road aims to reduce traffic congestion around the city, enhance regional connectivity, and boost economic growth in nearby districts.
