Four IAS officers, including Amrapali, officially reported to the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat on Thursday. This came after an order from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). The officers met with Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary Neerab Kumar Prasad and submitted their joining reports. The state government is expected to assign them their new postings soon.

This development follows the Telangana High Court’s decision on Wednesday, which dismissed petitions filed by several IAS officers. These officers, including Vani Prasad, Vakati Karuna, Ronald Rose, Amrapali, Srujana, Shivashankar, and Harikiran, had asked the court to stop their transfer orders and prevent their release from Telangana. However, the court supported the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) decision, stating that the officers must follow the DoPT’s directives and report to their assigned posts.

The High Court also ruled that it would not interfere with the administrative process of cadre allocation. It reiterated that decisions like these are handled by the central government. The officers had argued that their transfer to Andhra Pradesh was improper, but the court emphasized that any objections should be addressed to the CAT, where related cases are still pending.

As a result of this ruling, the IAS officers are now required to join the Andhra Pradesh cadre. Telangana has already relieved them of their duties. In a separate event, the Telangana government appointed Transport Commissioner Ilambarithi as the full-time GHMC Commissioner, replacing Amrapali.
