The Cyberabad Police Commissionerate has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory in connection with the Ganesh idol immersion scheduled from September 18 to September 26, 2026. The Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Cyberabad, announced multiple road closures and diversions across various locations to facilitate smooth processions and prevent traffic congestion during the festival period.
At IDL Lake in Kukatpally, the IDL Tank Road will remain closed for all vehicles except those participating in Ganesh processions, from the IDL Entrance to Rainbow Vista. Vehicles traveling from Kukatpally Y Junction towards Madhapur will be redirected through JNTU, Forum Mall, and Hitech City. Traffic from Hitech City and Madhapur heading towards Kukatpally will be diverted via Lucky Restaurant signal, 4th phase KPHB, Road No.1, and Remedy Hospital U-turn. An alternative route has been designated through Khaithlapur flyover, Rainbow Vista, Anjaiah Nagar X road, and Moosapet.
In the Pragathi Nagar Lake area under KPHB Traffic Police Station jurisdiction, the stretch from Srinivasa Steel to Three Monkey Junction will be closed to general traffic. Vehicles approaching from Gandimaisamma and Pragathi Nagar towards JNTU will be rerouted via Nizampet Village, 191 Sy No. Colony Road, and Nizampet Road. Traffic from JNTU towards Pragathi Nagar Colony will take an alternate path through Konaseema Hotel Road, Kolan Raghava Reddy Gardens, and Nizampet Village.
At Gangaram Lake in RC Puram and Kattamaisamma tank in Jeedimetla, specific restrictions have been imposed on heavy vehicles. Heavy vehicles from Patancheruvu will be diverted at BHEL Junction through Tara Nagar Market, Tellapur, and Gopanpally. In Jeedimetla, heavy vehicles traveling from Gandimaisamma X Road towards Balanagar must divert at Bahadurpally Junction via Dulapally Village Junction and JETL. Those moving from Balanagar towards Gandimaisamma will be redirected at Suraram Junction through Suraram Village and Bowrampet Junction.
For Malkam Cheruvu in Raidurgam, traffic restrictions will be implemented on September 25, 2026, from 1200 hours to 0800 hours on September 26, 2026. General traffic from Darga on Old Mumbai Highway will be diverted via Road No. 32, the backside of Malkam Cheruvu Road, and KIMS Hospital Lane to facilitate immersion processions. Private travel bus operators face significant restrictions during this period, with buses from Miyapur towards Hyderabad City via Kukatpally Y-Junction prohibited from operating on their usual routes.
All private travel buses traveling from Miyapur via Hafeezpet, Kondapur, and Gachibowli, as well as buses from BHEL junction towards Gachibowli via HCU road, are restricted during the immersion period. Travel bus operators have been advised to use alternative routes such as the BHEL-Patancheru-ORR corridor. The traffic advisory has been circulated to all Station House Officers of the Traffic Wing, the Traffic Command and Control Centre, and various Assistant Commissioners of Police across Madhapur, Miyapur, Kukatpally, and Medchal Traffic Divisions for strict compliance and enforcement.
