Gattu Mandal Excels in Sampoornata Abhiyan, Wins State Award

Gadwal: Gattu Mandal in the Jogulamba Gadwal district has achieved state-level recognition for its outstanding work in the Sampoornata Abhiyan program. This initiative aims for complete development in critical areas and was led by the CEO of NITI Aayog from July to September 2024 across various districts and blocks.

On Saturday, Telangana Governor Shri Jishnu Dev Varma awarded Copper Medals to the district administration during a ceremony at Raj Bhavan. This honor was for Gattu Mandal’s success in fully achieving three out of six important Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Gattu Mandal reached 100% completion in these health areas by September 2024:

  1. Registering pregnant women for antenatal care (ANC) in the first trimester
  2. Diabetes screening for the target population
  3. Hypertension screening for the target population

The district’s success is seen as a model of excellence in public health and preventive care.

District Collector B.Y. Santosh accepted the award, calling it a “proud milestone” for Gattu. He praised the teamwork between health officials and the district administration that ensured complete coverage.

The Sampoornata Abhiyan focuses on overall development in health, nutrition, education, and sanitation. Gattu Mandal’s achievements are now a case study in effective governance and public service.

With this recognition, Gattu Mandal sets a standard for other regions in the Aspirational Blocks Program. The district aims to continue this success across other areas.
