Gadwal: In Jogulamba Gadwal District, Collector B.M. Santosh announced a new building with modern facilities will be built in Gattu Mandal. This project, part of NITI Aayog’s Aspirational Blocks Programme, will cost ₹70 lakhs from a ₹1 crore development fund.

The Collector and Gadwal MLA Bandla Krishnamohan Reddy attended a ceremony at Gattu Mandal headquarters. They honored district and mandal officials with mementos and certificates for their excellent work in developing the area.

The Collector mentioned that in 2023, the Prime Minister identified 500 of the most backward mandals in the country, including Gattu. Since then, the area improved drastically, moving from the 100th rank to the 5th nationally, thanks to 32 development indicators.

He credited this success to the collaboration of officials from various departments, as well as strong political and administrative support. District officials have already been recognized by the State Governor for this achievement, and the current felicitation acknowledges the hard work of grassroots officials.

The Collector emphasized the importance of continuing efforts in health, education, agriculture, social welfare, and infrastructure. Providing essentials like toilets, drinking water, and buildings at Anganwadi centers, stopping child marriages, ensuring girls’ education, and empowering women self-help groups through bank loans and revolving funds are key areas of focus.
