GHMC collects record 2,000 crore rupees in property tax

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has collected a record amount of over ₹2,012 crore in property tax by 6 PM on Monday. This is the highest amount ever collected in the history of the Corporation.

This large sum was collected under a One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme introduced by the government. As part of the property tax collection drive for the financial year 2024-25, the GHMC received ₹2,012.36 crore in total.

Out of this amount, ₹465.07 crore was collected between March 8 and March 31, 2025, after the government launched the OTS scheme.

The success of this record-breaking tax collection is due to the combined efforts of bill collectors, tax inspectors, Assistant Municipal Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and Zonal Commissioners.
