Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is offering a 5% rebate on property tax for the financial year 2025–26.
According to GHMC officials, this rebate is being provided under Section 264(2) of the GHMC Act, 1955, with the addition of a new sub-section (3). Property owners can get the 5% discount if they pay the full property tax for the year before April 30, 2025. This benefit will be given even if a bill or demand notice has not yet been issued.
The GHMC has introduced this “early bird” rebate scheme to encourage taxpayers to pay early and save money. Property owners can start making payments from April 1, 2025.
However, this offer is only for the current year’s tax and does not apply to any unpaid taxes from previous years.
