Hyderabad: On Friday, St. Francis College for Women in Begumpet hosted its annual Freshers’ Party with a lively “Disco Deewane” theme. The event welcomed new students with excitement and style. The highlight was the Miss Fresher’s Contest 2025, judged by Telugu film personalities Deborah Doris Fell and Monica Arya Reddy.
The celebration began with a calming prayer song and choir medley. As the event progressed, engaging dance performances energized the atmosphere. Principal Professor Uma Joseph addressed the newcomers, urging them to seize opportunities while embracing the 70s and 80s nostalgia, which inspired the party’s theme.
Twelve contestants competed for the Miss Fresher title through a Ramp Walk, Talent Round, and a Question and Answer session. They were judged on stage presence, confidence, charisma, talent, intelligence, and authenticity.
Shailaja Shanmukan from B.Com won the Miss Fresher 2024 title. Catherine Shah became the 1st Runner-up, and Krishitha Choudhary took 2nd Runner-up. Special awards went to Sharanya Siddhi for Miss Talented, Tvisha Sha for Miss Best Dressed, and Aahana Misra for Miss Vivacious.
The judges praised the participants for their energy and talent. Besides the competition, the day included several activities to help freshers connect, build friendships, and explore the various opportunities within the college community.
