Godavari River Surges in Bhadrachalam, Water Level Hits 31.50 Feet

The water level of the Godavari River at Bhadrachalam has been rising due to heavy rains. It has now reached a height of 31.5 feet.

In response, authorities have opened 20 gates at the Taliperu project in Charla. This release has resulted in a flood of 66,900 cusecs of water downstream.

In Gadwala district, the Jurala project is also experiencing flood conditions. Authorities have raised 5 gates to manage the water flow. The infrastructure can handle up to 70,000 cusecs, but the current outflow is 32,267 cusecs.

In Nizamabad district, the Sriramsagar project is expecting a flood of 18,275 cusecs. The project’s full water level is 1091 feet, and it has already reached 1066 feet.

Authorities are taking these measures as precautions to manage the increased water levels and prevent flooding in nearby areas. People in these areas are advised to stay alert and follow local authority instructions for their safety.
