Hyderabad: The State government has announced a Summer Action Plan to help people stay safe and comfortable during the hot season. The plan focuses on making sure there is enough clean drinking water and that fans and coolers are working in all government hospitals.
Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha held a video meeting with senior officials to check how prepared government hospitals are for the summer.
He told officials that drinking water must be available on every floor and in every part of each hospital. He also asked them to set up special drinking water points, called Chalivendras, in good locations around the hospital premises.
With temperatures rising and the risk of heat-related sickness increasing, the Minister stressed the need to keep patients, doctors, and hospital staff comfortable. He asked for fans and coolers to be repaired or installed quickly where needed. He also said that air conditioners, especially in ICUs and other important areas, must be kept in good working condition. If more help is needed, support from donors can be used.
