Hyderabad: The Telangana government has decided to increase the Dearness Allowance (DA), bringing relief to over seven lakh families during the Sankranti celebrations. This change was officially announced on Monday.

The new DA rates will be applied retroactively from July 1, 2023. This adjustment aims to help government employees and pensioners manage the increased cost of living over the past two-and-a-half years. It covers employees under the State’s Revised Pay Scales (RPS) and those following UGC and AICTE pay guidelines.

For those under Revised Pay Scales (RPS) 2020, DA has risen from 30.03% to 33.67% of their basic pay or pension. Employees on Revised Pay Scales (RPS) 2015 will see an increase from 68.628% to 73.344%.
