Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced a Rs 1,290 crore fund dedicated to temple development throughout the state. He expressed hopes for the state’s growth and the well-being of its people.
During the Bonalu festival, Vikramarka presented traditional offerings, emphasizing that the festival celebrates goddess Mahankali and embodies the cultural essence of Telangana. He highlighted the importance of preserving these long-standing traditions.
Bonalu celebrations began at the Golconda Fort and continued city-wide, concluding at the Lal Darwaza temple. Vikramarka noted the peaceful and spiritual atmosphere of the festivities.
The government has allocated Rs 20 crore specifically for Bonalu events in Hyderabad from the overall fund. This money will also be used for temple renovations across the state, improving security, sanitation, and crowd management. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has committed to developing the area around the Lal Darwaza Mahankali temple.
Meanwhile, IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu offered silk robes at the Sri Akkanna Madanna Mahankali Temple in Haribowli, performing special prayers on behalf of the government. He shared warm greetings with the public during Bonalu, describing the offering as a unique honor and a spiritually fulfilling experience. The temple is a testament to Hyderabad’s rich history and cultural heritage.
