Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has accused former SIB Chief Prabhakar Rao of misconduct. On Monday, Kumar expressed concern about the lack of progress in corruption cases under the Congress rule over the past 18 months. He urged the state government to ensure a strong legal case against Rao and his associates.
Kumar alleged that Rao was involved in spying on opposition party members. He claimed that Rao had connections with former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s family in the US, suggesting that Rao’s surrender was part of a strategic plan. Kumar insisted that Rao’s statements during the investigation should be released to the public.
He mentioned that this matter affected not just CM Revanth Reddy but also involved phone tapping of leaders from Congress, BJP, BRS, and even judges. Kumar said his conversations were also intercepted. The Karimnagar MP highlighted the personal impact of Rao’s actions, stating that many families suffered due to the invasion of their privacy. He questioned on whose orders the phone tapping was done and what happened to the collected data.
