Wanaparthy: Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao joined District Collector Adarsh Surabhi on Saturday for a public awareness seminar held in Panagal Mandal.

At the event, the minister spoke about the Indiramma housing scheme. He urged selection committees to ensure that only truly needy and eligible families receive housing benefits.

He voiced concern about rising financial stress among the poor. According to him, many families are falling into debt due to spending on unnecessary celebrations, private schools, and private hospitals.

“The government is working to improve public schools and hiring more teachers,” he said. “Parents should send their children to government institutions to reduce expenses.”

Minister Jupally also addressed issues surrounding the Bhu Bharati Act. He criticized the earlier Dharani system, claiming it led people to lose their ancestral lands, purchased lands, and even assigned government lands due to loopholes.

He assured the public that the government will soon bring back the village revenue system. This move aims to protect land rights and maintain clear land ownership records.

In areas like Chinnambavi and Panagal, he said, officials are already working to identify and recover encroached lands, returning them to government control.

Collector Adarsh Surabhi added that the administration is distributing informative pamphlets on the Bhu Bharati law. He encouraged everyone to attend such sessions and stay informed.

“Once the law is active, no one can claim ignorance,” he warned. “Take advantage of these awareness programs.”
