Hyderabad: The Telangana Government has prepared a detailed master plan for a proposed Aerospace and Defence Industrial Park at Timmapur in Rangareddy district. The project is expected to become a major manufacturing hub for aerospace, defence, IT, electronics and hardware industries while strengthening the state’s position as a leading destination for high-value manufacturing.
According to the master plan, the industrial park has been planned over approximately 362.18 acres of land out of a total notified area of 567 acres. The layout includes industrial plots, logistics infrastructure, truck terminals, commercial areas, roads, green spaces, public utilities and institutional zones.
Land Acquisition Process
The project is being developed in Timmapur Revenue Village. Earlier, on December 31, 2024, the government issued a notification for acquiring around 567 acres of government-assigned land located in:
- Survey No. 388 – approximately 350 acres
- Survey No. 162 – approximately 217 acres
Sources indicate that compensation has already been paid for a substantial portion of the acquired land, while awards for some remaining parcels are yet to be completed.

330-Foot Radial Road to Improve Connectivity
One of the major infrastructure components proposed for the project is a 330-foot-wide radial road. The road is expected to improve connectivity between the industrial park and surrounding infrastructure, including the proposed Electronic Vehicle Development Cluster (EVDC) and other industrial developments in the region.
Officials believe the new road will improve freight movement and support future industrial expansion around Timmapur.
Focus on Aerospace and Defence Manufacturing
The proposed industrial park is expected to attract investments in high-technology sectors such as aerospace, defence manufacturing, electronics, precision engineering and IT hardware. Telangana has been actively promoting these sectors through dedicated industrial policies and infrastructure development.
With Hyderabad already emerging as one of India’s leading aerospace and defence ecosystems, the new industrial park is expected to complement existing facilities and create employment opportunities while attracting domestic and international investments.
Some Alignments May Still Change
While the master plan provides a detailed layout of the proposed development, officials indicate that certain internal road alignments and plot boundaries may be revised during the detailed implementation stage based on technical studies, infrastructure requirements and statutory approvals.
Part of Telangana’s Industrial Expansion
The Timmapur Aerospace and Defence Industrial Park is part of Telangana’s broader strategy to strengthen advanced manufacturing and logistics infrastructure around Hyderabad. Along with projects such as Future City, the proposed Bullet Train hub at Shamshabad, and expanding industrial corridors, the new industrial park is expected to contribute to the region’s long-term economic growth and position Hyderabad as a global manufacturing destination.
