Rajanna Sircilla witnessed a protocol issue during the Telangana Praja Palana Dinostavam at the district police grounds on Wednesday.
Government Whip Aadi Srinivas was upset over protocol breaches by district Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha. Srinivas, who was on time for the flag-hoisting ceremony, claimed that the Collector arrived late, violating protocol. Similar issues arose on August 15 during the Independence Day celebrations when the Collector allegedly did not follow protocol for the Government Whip.
The controversy deepened because the invitation booklet, distributed statewide, included the chief guest’s message in all districts. However, in Rajanna Sircilla, the message from Aadi Srinivas, appointed as the chief guest by the State, was missing. This omission raised concerns about administrative negligence. Srinivas expressed his dissatisfaction by filing a complaint with the Chief Minister’s Office and the Chief Secretary, accusing the Collector of undermining democratic principles and his office’s dignity. Sources from the Chief Whip’s camp office suggested that the disrespect was intentional. Srinivas urged higher authorities to take quick and firm action against the Collector.
Local representatives and residents felt that the Collector’s repeated protocol breaches strained relations between the administration and the public. They insisted that such actions were inappropriate for a responsible officer and called for measures to restore public trust.
