Hanumakonda: Forest, Environment, and Endowments Minister Konda Surekha instructed officials to prepare thoroughly for the upcoming Bathukamma and Dasara festivals. The goal is to ensure smooth celebrations without any issues for the public.
She participated as the main guest at a meeting organized by the Karimabad Dasara Utsav Committee. This meeting, led by Warangal Collector Dr. Satya Sharada, took place at Rangaleela Grounds in Karimabad. It was a joint effort by the district administration and GWMC. Important figures like Mayor Gundu Sudharani, Police Commissioner Sunpreet Singh, and Municipal Commissioner Chahat Bajpai were present. They discussed and guided officials on how to manage the events effectively.
Minister Surekha highlighted the significance of Bathukamma for the women of Telangana. She emphasized ensuring that the grounds are well-prepared, potholes are fixed, and facilities like lighting, water, and lake cleaning are provided.
For the Dasara celebrations at Rangaleela Grounds, the minister stressed that all requested facilities must be in place. This includes adequate lighting, sanitation, water, seating, and traffic control. Security should be robust, featuring male and female personnel, CCTV coverage, and uninterrupted power. TSRTC services should run smoothly, with parking, medical ambulances, fire services, and skilled swimmers available at lakes.
She urged officials to collaborate diligently, avoiding any oversight. Preparations should cover not only Ursu but also Kashibugga, Rangashaipet, and Shivanagar. Drawing from past experiences, the minister called for comprehensive plans to ensure a memorable festival. Women’s groups are encouraged to set up food stalls.
Under the Culture department, Bathukamma celebrations are being conducted extensively across districts. A special event is planned on September 21 at the Thousand Pillar Temple, requiring strong arrangements.
Dr. Sharada confirmed that officials are already briefed on the requirements for Saddula Bathukamma and Dasara. Efforts are underway to ensure quick completion of tasks by municipal and related departments.
Commissioner Singh added that strong security measures will be in place for peaceful celebrations. Heavy vehicles will be rerouted, and arrangements for parking and CCTV monitoring are being made.
