    Gold medal recipients at the Sri Konda Laxman Telangana Horticultural University include R Varalakshmi for BSc Honors Horticulture, K Ravali for BSc Honors Forestry, K Pratyusha for the dean’s gold medal, M Malavika for MSc Horticulture, GS Divya for fruit science, P Vidya Sree for floriculture and landscaping, and P Maheshwari for plantation, spices, medicinal, and aromatic crops.

    Governor CP Radhakrishnan encouraged youth to take part in the Viksit Bharat mission during the third convocation of SKLTHU. He emphasized the potential for India to reach a GDP of 30 trillion US dollars by 2047 through youth participation. The Governor highlighted the importance of horticulture and forestry sectors alongside agriculture in providing income for rural populations.

    Dr Geeta Lakshmi, vice-chancellor of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, stressed the need for technology-based agriculture to ensure sustainable food security. She mentioned precision farming, big data, artificial intelligence, robots, drones, and remote sensing as tools to increase crop productivity. SKLTHU vice-chancellor Dr B Neeraja Prabhakar outlined the university’s efforts to train students as horticultural experts and provide guidance to farmers.

    156 students received horticulture degrees, 50 received forest degrees, 45 earned horticulture postgraduate degrees, 30 earned forest postgraduate degrees, and six obtained PhD doctorates during the convocation ceremony.
