Hyderabad: Governor Jishnu Dev Varma emphasized the importance of constitutional values for all Public Service Commissions (PSCs). He praised the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) for organizing a crucial dialogue with state PSC chairpersons.
Speaking as the Chief Guest at the closing of a two-day national workshop by TGPSC and NALSAR University of Law on Friday, he stressed the PSCs’ duty to select the most capable candidates for public service while upholding constitutional principles.
He also pointed out the need for empathy and people-focused governance in implementing strategies to ensure justice, fairness, and efficiency in recruitment.
The workshop, held at the NALSAR Campus in Shamirpet, focused on “Legal Issues and Mitigation at Public Service Commissions.”
On the second day, discussions covered themes like “Stakeholders in Litigation and Mitigation Strategies,” “Best Practices and Future Directions,” and “The Role of Technology in Handling Legal Issues.”
Notable panelists included Shivashankarappa S. Sahukar, Chairperson of Karnataka PSC; Santosh Gopal Ajmera, Joint Secretary of UPSC; Surya Prakash B. S., from DAKSH, Bangalore; Dr. Udaysinh S. Raorane, Chairperson of Goa PSC; Vishwam Jindal, CEO of Webnyay; Dr. Justice Devaraju Nagarjun, Chairperson of the Telangana Electricity Regulatory Commission; and Hasmukh Patel, Chairperson of Gujarat PSC.
