Telangana Minister Jupally Krishna Rao announced that this year’s Sankranthi festival will be celebrated in a grand way to honor tradition and culture. To boost tourism, special events are planned, including the ‘Kite and Sweet Festival’ at Parade Ground from January 13th to 17th.
The festival will feature 40 international kite flyers from 19 countries and kite enthusiasts from 15 Indian states. Stalls will offer sweets from different regions, showcasing diverse flavors.
Minister Krishna Rao revealed that a hot air balloon show, cleared for aviation, will occur from January 16th to 18th. Attendees can book tickets online. During the day, golf courses at Gachibowli Stadium will be open, and at night, stunning drone shows will light up the Parade Ground.
To support environmental awareness, the kite festival will also take place around city lakes, promoting the preservation of these natural resources.
