An FIR has been registered with Ramgopalpet Police Station following the discovery of forged allocation certificates for 2BHK flats in Gandimaisamma Mandal of Medchal Malkajgiri district. The case was filed under Sections 173 and 176 of BNS based on a complaint lodged by Secunderabad Division Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO), Sai Ram. The investigation revealed that individuals had submitted fake certificates bearing fraudulent stamps and reference numbers that were never issued by the revenue department.
In a press release issued on Monday, RDO Sai Ram stated that an investigation was conducted into individuals who submitted fake certificates for double bedroom houses. The probe uncovered that the certificates in question carried a fake stamp reading ‘Revenue Divisional Officer, Hyderabad Secunderabad Division, Hyderabad District’. Upon verification, it was confirmed that the reference numbers mentioned on these certificates were not issued by the office. The Hyderabad district has two divisions—Hyderabad and Secunderabad—and the fake certificates attempted to exploit this administrative structure.
Authorities have warned citizens not to fall prey to fake patta peddlers or middlemen who promise housing allocations through fraudulent means. The circulation of these forged documents has prompted officials to issue a public advisory urging residents to stay vigilant. Citizens are being encouraged to report any suspicious activity related to housing certificates or individuals claiming to facilitate 2BHK flat allocations through unofficial channels to the authorities immediately.
The Ramgopalpet Police has been requested to take legal action against those responsible for creating and circulating the bogus certificates. The investigation is ongoing to identify all individuals involved in the forgery racket. Officials emphasized that only certificates issued directly by authorized revenue offices should be considered legitimate, and any documentation obtained through intermediaries should be verified with the respective RDO offices before submission.
