Hyderabad: Syed Shah Ghulam Afzal Biyabani (Khusro Pasha), the Chairman of the Telangana State Haj Committee, visited the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad on Wednesday. He aimed to review the preparations for welcoming Haj pilgrims returning from Saudi Arabia.
He checked essential facilities like the ablution (Wazu) area, prayer (Namaz) area, holding areas, exit gates, and the Zam Zam water distribution counter. He also looked at customs clearance and passenger flow arrangements to ensure a smooth process.
Officials from the Telangana State Haj Committee, Airport Authority, Customs, CISF, and GMR joined him. They explained the measures taken for a respectful reception of the pilgrims.
The Chairman stressed the importance of coordination among departments to offer dignified and hassle-free services, especially for senior citizens.
The return of Haj pilgrims will start on June 13 and continue until July 9 in multiple batches.
