The Health Minister of Hyderabad, T Harish Rao, said that the government is ready to handle the hot weather. He took part in a review with other Health Ministers and Disaster Management Officers from seven states. They discussed what to do about the high temperatures and hailstorms. Harish Rao talked about what his state’s government is doing. They have a two-part plan for public health care. They trained two medical officers per district. Then those officers trained all of the medical staff at the health centers in the district.

The Minister said they are ready to help anyone who gets sunstroke. They have special wards and ICU beds in hospitals, and 108 ambulances with medicine to help people quickly. They also have medicine like IV fluids and ORS in all primary centers. They have made sure there are places with shade and water for people who are outside, like at bus stops and construction sites.

Harish Rao said the Central Government and Meteorological Department will tell them when it’s going to get very hot, so they can take action early. He told people to be careful in the heat.
