Gadwal: Dr. Sudhakar Lal, who oversees seasonal disease monitoring for the state, visited Jogulamba Gadwal district. He led a meeting at the District Medical and Health Office to review how the district is handling seasonal diseases like dengue, malaria, and chikungunya. He was accompanied by Dr. S.K. Siddappa, the District Medical and Health Officer, along with program officers, PHC medical officers, and supervisors.
Dr. Lal stressed the need for proactive steps to prevent outbreaks. He instructed that Rapid Response Teams (RRTs) should quickly visit affected areas to carry out anti-larval and anti-malaria strategies.
He also ordered “Dry Day” initiatives every Friday in all villages to remove stagnant water and stop mosquito breeding. Identifying villages affected by dengue last year and those at high risk is crucial. Medical camps should be held to inform the public about disease prevention.
The review included several key health officials: Dr. Sandhya Kiranmai (NCD Program Officer), Dr. G. Raju (NCVBDC Program Officer), Dr. Rizwana (District Immunization Officer), Dr. Prasoona Rani (MHN Program Officer), PHC Medical Officers, K. Madhusudhan Reddy (Deputy Demographer), B. Sivanna (SUO), Ram Anjaneyulu (DDM), and K. Shyam Sundar (District NCD Coordinator).
This visit emphasized the district’s focus on reducing the spread of seasonal diseases through teamwork and public education efforts.
