Heavy rains are affecting the Telugu states as a low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal continues to bring showers. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) says this is due to a depression in the Arabian Sea. Expect moderate to heavy rainfall with winds of 30-40 km/h. Thunderstorms and lightning are also likely in parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
In Andhra Pradesh, the Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain in Eluru district. Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Manyam, Alluri, and Visakhapatnam districts might see moderate rain. Officials are monitoring the Godavari River as water levels could rise. Residents in low-lying areas should stay alert.
In Telangana, rain is forecasted in districts like Adilabad, Komuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, and Karimnagar. Komuram Bheem district has a heavy rain warning, while a yellow alert covers the rest of the state. Locals should take safety measures and stay updated on the weather changes.
