Mahabubnagar: As the Dasara holidays ended on Sunday, many travelers headed back to Hyderabad. This turned the national highway in Mahabubnagar district into a busy stream of vehicles. Traffic jams formed at key points like Jadcherla, Rajapur, and the Balanagar flyovers. The district police quickly took action to manage the situation.
Vehicles were bumper to bumper, especially at Balanagar where flyover construction reduced road space on NH-44. District Superintendent of Police (SP) D Janaki arrived to oversee the situation firsthand. She checked the traffic flow and assessed local police arrangements.
The SP instructed officials to ensure a smooth flow of traffic, emphasizing that no commuter should be inconvenienced. She demanded efficient traffic diversions and patrolling during peak hours.
Following her commands, Mahabubnagar traffic police increased their presence. Additional constables were stationed at key intersections and narrow roads. Temporary diversions helped reduce congestion at critical spots.
Led by Balanagar Sub-Inspector Lenin, police worked tirelessly to manage traffic and prevent blockages. Their coordinated effort gradually eased the congestion, allowing vehicles to move safely and steadily.
By late evening, thanks to the SP and her team’s timely actions, the situation improved significantly. Commuters felt relieved and praised the police for their quick response, which prevented a potential traffic nightmare on the highway.
