In an innovative move in India, the INTACH Foundation launched the Heritage Quiz 2025 in Mahabubnagar. This event aimed to uncover the hidden talents of rural students by giving them a stage to display their knowledge.
Nagender Swamy from INTACH shared that the quiz was crafted to motivate government school students, particularly from rural areas, to discover their intellectual capabilities and build confidence through competition.
The response was tremendous, with over 400 teams and nearly 800 students from 104 government schools across 17 mandals in the Mahabubnagar district participating. The competition spanned a month and involved several rounds to identify the top contenders for the final showdown.
On Saturday, the competition’s final phase occurred in two parts. Initially, top students from rural schools joined those from urban schools in a written quiz. The best teams moved on to the oral quiz round, which challenged their quick thinking and knowledge.
Winners of the final round received prizes and certificates, earning applause from the audience. Parents, teachers, and local leaders praised the INTACH Foundation for fostering academic excellence and promoting cultural and heritage awareness among students.
The event ended positively, with organizers hopeful that the quiz would inspire more rural students to compete confidently and showcase their talents on larger stages in the future.
