A team of advocate commissioners visited lakes in Rangareddy and Medchal Malkajgiri districts in Telangana. The High Court appointed the advocate commissioners to verify encroachments on 16 lakes in these districts. The lakes include Durgam Cheruvu, Sunnam Cheruvu, Pedda Cheruvu, and others. The petitioner, an NGO called GAMANA, filed a case seeking information about measures taken against encroachments. The case involved seven departments, including the Government of Andhra Pradesh, GHMC, and the Pollution Control Board. The advocate commissioners, along with officials from GHMC, Irrigation, and Revenue departments, conducted a two-day inspection of the lakes. They visited Durgam Cheruvu, Medikunta Cheruvu, Gosai Kunta, Pedda Cheruvu, and Gangaram Pedda Cheruvu. Officials from various departments were present during the inspection.
