Telangana Minister Gangula Kamalakar has received relief from the High Court. The court dismissed a petition that sought to disqualify Kamalakar’s election as Karimnagar MLA in 2018, claiming he exceeded the allowed campaign expenditure. The petition was filed by Congress leader Ponnam Prabhakar. The High Court conducted an inquiry and found no proper evidence to support the claim. On Thursday, the court will hear another petition filed by BJP’s Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay, seeking to cancel Kamalakar’s election.
