Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court, with Justice K Lakshman presiding, recently made a decision regarding a criminal petition. This petition was filed by Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao, a BRS MLA, along with former legislators Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy and Balka Suman. They were involved in a case registered by the Mahadevpur police in Jayashankar-Bhupalpally district.

The issue arose when KTR, who is the working president of BRS, and the two others, were accused of video graphing the Medigadda Barrage during their visit on July 26. They did this without prior permission, which led them to seek a stay on further proceedings related to the FIR.

The petitioners’ lawyer explained to the court that KTR and the other leaders visited the Kaleshwaram project’s barrage to highlight issues about the State government not lifting water. This has reportedly been causing a water shortage for the Kharif season, negatively impacting farmers.

KTR and his team argued that there is a proper system in place to lift water from the barrage. However, they claimed that irrigation officials, acting with bad intentions, have not been doing so. When they attempted to document this through video, a case was filed against them.
