The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and Urban Mobility and Transport Authority (UMTA) are set to significantly expand the city’s cycling infrastructure by linking the existing 23-km Outer Ring Road (ORR) Cycling Track with major information technology parks, commercial centers, and residential areas across Hyderabad. The ambitious project aims to transform cycling into a viable mode of daily commute for thousands of professionals working in the city’s bustling business districts.

The proposed expansion includes ten dedicated cycling corridors strategically designed to connect key locations across Hyderabad’s western corridor. The routes will link prominent areas including Cyber Towers, HITEC City, Gachibowli, Financial District, Kokapet, Jubilee Hills, and Ameerpet. One major corridor will run from Cyber Towers to Inorbit Mall and back, while another will connect HBC Bike Station to IKEA, Ranke Towers, Radisson, Gachibowli Junction, and the Cyberabad Commissionerate.

Two additional corridors will enhance connectivity to residential neighborhoods. One route will run from Cyber Towers through Jubilee Hills, Yousufguda, and Ameerpet, while another will create a loop connecting Inorbit Mall, Nectar Garden, Jubilee Hills Road No. 45, KBR Park, and back to Inorbit Mall. These routes are designed to integrate cycling into the daily lives of residents across different parts of the city.
