Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has made it easier for people to benefit from the one-time settlement (OTS) scheme. On Monday, the board announced that consumers no longer need to submit an affidavit to take part in the scheme.

HMWSSB officials recently extended the OTS scheme deadline until November 30, 2024. Under this scheme, customers can now submit a guarantee document instead of the affidavit. For those who have already benefitted from past OTS schemes, up to 50% of the bill will be waived, as per a joint venture order (JVO) issued in October.

However, after receiving requests from consumers, HMWSSB has relaxed the rules even further. Now, eligible customers can receive up to a 100% discount under the OTS-2020 scheme itself. If consumers have any questions about the scheme, they can contact HMWSSB customer care at 155313 for assistance.
