Hyderabad: Dr. K Narayana, the CPI National Secretary, has urged the central government to initiate a ceasefire with the Naxalites immediately.
He spoke at the opening of the CPI Janaseva Dal state-level training meeting on Monday, suggesting that both parties should declare a ceasefire. It is believed that the Naxalites have already agreed to this step.
Dr. Narayana emphasized that the Naxalites are citizens, not terrorists. He pointed out that if dialogue is possible with Pakistan, which supports terrorism, then talking with the Naxalites should be easier since they are fellow citizens.
He called for the central government to engage in political discussions to reach a peace agreement, highlighting that the issue arises from ideological differences and cannot be resolved through violence.
