In Hyderabad, K Venkata Subash, a seventh grader diagnosed with cancer, got to be a police inspector for a day at the Nampally police station. He was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) last year and is currently receiving treatment at MNJ Cancer Hospital in Red Hills.

Make-A-Wish Foundation of India, Hyderabad Chapter volunteers learned about Subash’s dream of becoming a police officer during an interaction. They passed this information along to their superiors, who reached out to the Hyderabad Commissioner of Police for assistance. The Commissioner’s office then contacted Inspector B Abhilash at Nampally police station to make the boy’s wish come true.

With the help of police officials, the NGO brought Subash to the Nampally police station dressed in a police uniform. Upon arrival, he was warmly welcomed by Inspector Abhilash, Sub Inspector P Sai Kumar, and other staff members.
