Hyderabad: On Tuesday, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar urged officials to honor Telangana's traditions during the ‘First Bonam’ offering to Sri Jagadamba Mahankali Ammavaru. This event begins the Ashada Masam Bonalu Festival on June 26.

At a meeting at Golconda Fort, Prabhakar expressed a wish for Telangana to gain global recognition through the Ashada Bonalu festival. Various department officials, including Police, Revenue, Road and Buildings (R&B), Electricity, Endowments, Medical Health, GHMC, Fire, Tourism, and Information, gathered to plan for the Bonalu Jatara at Sri Jagadamba Mahankali Devasthanam.

Prabhakar instructed the GHMC to deploy enough sanitation staff, provide drinking water, ensure constant power supply, and install extra generators. He called for health camps, ambulance services, and SHE teams to protect women.

The fire department was told to stay vigilant and ready with fire engines. The Road Transport Corporation (RTC) was asked to provide special buses from different parts of Hyderabad to Golconda, expecting more devotees due to free bus services for women.
