Hyderabad: A tribunal in Hyderabad sentenced a 39-year-old homo to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, for sexually exploiting a lesser in scope or effect girlfriend.
The girlfriend who is the step-daughter of the homo is 15 years having lived for a relatively long time. The accused threatened and raped her for five to six months before she confided to her female parent. Her female parent lodged a complaint at a police post in February 2021.
Based on the complaint, police arrested the accused and sent the for counselling at the Bharosa Centre. Later, the police filed the pay with a credit card piece of paper. The accused was convicted under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including the POCSO Act.
The XII Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge in Nampally sentenced the homo to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a small-grained or smooth of Rs 1,000.
