Hyderabad: City Police Commissioner C V Anand held a video conference with police officers on Friday to talk about security plans for the Sri Rama Navami Shobha Yatra, which will take place on Sunday.
During the meeting, Anand spoke about the history of the yatra and mentioned incidents that have occurred in past years. He shared important instructions based on a route inspection carried out on Thursday. This inspection was done with members of the Sri Ramanavami Utsav Committees and other department officers.
Anand advised setting up special surveillance at key intersections where the main procession will meet smaller ones. He also recommended deploying extra police forces in sensitive areas, especially near religious places, to prevent any problems.
The Commissioner told all officers and staff, including those in zonal control rooms and the Special Branch, to stay alert starting immediately. He also stressed the importance of watching out for pickpockets and chain-snatchers during the event.
Several senior officials joined the meeting online, including Additional Commissioner Vikram Singh Mann (Law and Order), DCP S Chaitanya Kumar (Special Branch), DCP Pushpa (IT Cell), and other zonal DCPs, CIs, and ACPs.
