Hyderabad is gearing up for New Year celebrations under strict surveillance as the city police implement a ‘Zero Drugs’ policy across all entertainment venues and public spaces. Commissioner of Police V.C. Sajjanar announced the deployment of special forces to ensure drug-free celebrations.
The Hyderabad police have placed pubs, hotels, restaurants, and party venues under special surveillance ahead of the New Year festivities. Authorities are keeping a close watch on both commercial establishments and private gatherings to prevent any drug-related activities.
Private parties at service apartments and hostels will also be monitored as part of the comprehensive crackdown. The police department aims to leave no stone unturned in its mission to eliminate drug abuse during the celebrations.
All pubs and restaurants across the city must adhere to a mandatory 1:00 AM closure time. This directive applies to all entertainment establishments without exception, ensuring better control over late-night activities.
The police have prepared a special list of past drug offenders and known peddlers, who will remain under close observation throughout the New Year period. Law enforcement agencies will track their movements to prevent any illegal activities.
Establishments found violating the regulations will face strict action, including license cancellation. The police have made it clear that no leniency will be shown to violators, regardless of their status or connections.
To manage the expected surge of revelers, authorities will strengthen security arrangements at major gathering spots. Check-posts and barricades will be set up at key locations including Maitrivanam, Necklace Road, Tank Bund, and KBR Park.
These popular destinations typically attract large crowds during New Year celebrations. The enhanced security measures aim to ensure public safety while maintaining order across the city.
The special forces deployed for this operation will work round the clock to monitor suspicious activities. Plain-clothes officers will also be stationed at various locations to gather intelligence and prevent drug trafficking.
According to CP V.C. Sajjanar, the special deployment and surveillance measures represent the city’s commitment to providing a safe and drug-free environment for citizens celebrating the New Year.
