Hyderabad police have arrested a Rapido driver for stealing an auto-rickshaw. The police recovered the stolen vehicle from him.
The arrested person is Mohammed Haneef Quershi, a 23-year-old resident of Saidabad. According to the police, he stole the auto-rickshaw on March 10 from Akberbagh, New Malakpet. He planned to use it for his personal financial benefit.
On Sunday, during a routine vehicle check near Azampura X Roads in Chaderghat, the police stopped Haneef. When he failed to provide valid documents and gave unclear answers, they detained him.
During questioning, he admitted to stealing the vehicle. The police arrested him and seized the stolen auto-rickshaw. Further legal action is being taken.
