The Hyderabad Traffic Police have issued a comprehensive traffic advisory for Jummat-ul-Vida, the last Friday of Ramzan month, scheduled for March 20, 2026. In connection with the prayers at Mecca Masjid, Charminar, major roads surrounding the historic monument will be closed for all vehicular traffic from 0800 hours to 1600 hours. The restrictions have been put in place to ensure smooth conduct of the prayers and safety of devotees expected to gather in large numbers.
The main roads from Charminar towards Madina, Murgi Chowk, and Shalibanda will remain completely closed during the specified hours. Traffic will be diverted at multiple key junctions in the Charminar Zone. Vehicles coming from Nayapul side towards Charminar will be diverted at Madina Junction towards City College. Similarly, traffic from Nagulchintha and Shalibanda areas will be redirected at Himmatpura Junction towards Hari Bowli and Volga Hotel T Junction on the Khilwat side.
Additional diversions have been planned at Chowk Maidan Kaman, where traffic will be redirected towards Kotla Aliza or Moghalpura sides. At Motigalli, vehicles from Moosabowli areas will be diverted towards Khilwath ground, Rajesh Medical Hall Shalibanda, and Fathe Darwaza Road. Traffic from Etebar Chowk towards Gulzarhouse will be redirected towards Mandi Miralam Market or Bibi Bazar. Vehicles from Mitti Ka Sher will not be allowed towards Gulzar House and will be diverted via Ghansi Bazaar to reach High Court Road or Khilwath.
The traffic police have designated six major parking locations in the Traffic South Zone for devotees. Gulzar Function Hall will accommodate vehicles coming from Madina and Pathargatti areas. Mufeed ul Anam Ground has been allocated for devotees arriving from Yakuthpura, Noorkhan Bazar, Talab Katta, and Dabeerpura. The Charminar Bus Terminal will serve those coming from Chandrayangutta and Falaknuma areas, while AU Hospital parking will cater to devotees from Santosh Nagar, Talab Katta, and Moghalpura.
Khilwat Ground has been designated for parking vehicles of devotees coming from Misrigunj, Fathe Darwaza, Hussaini Alam, and Puranapool sides. The area opposite Chowmohalla Palace near the Old Pension Office and Urdu Maskan will accommodate traffic coming from the western side of Mecca Masjid, including Kishanbagh, Bahadurpura, and Hussaini Alam. Inspectors from respective traffic police stations have been assigned to manage each parking facility.
The traffic restrictions will also apply to RTC buses. City buses heading towards Charminar will be terminated at Afzalgunj Bus Stop. RTC buses traveling to districts via Nayapool and Madina from MGBS and Imlibun will be rerouted through Chadarghat Rotary, Nalgonda X Roads, Chanchalguda, Saidabad T Junction, IS Sadan, DMRL Junction, Midhani Junction, MBNR Flyover, and Bandlaguda towards Aramghar.
In the Secunderabad Zone, Subhash Road between Mahankali Law and Order Police Station and Old Ramgopalpet Police Station Junction on MG Road will be closed from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Traffic will be diverted from Rocha Bazar towards Ranigunj and Paradise Junction. Vehicles coming from Bata X Roads towards Subhash Road will be redirected at Mahankali Law and Order Police Station towards the lane to the left of the police station and towards Lala Temple.

In case of emergency, commuters can call the traffic helpline at 9010203626 for travel assistance. The traffic police have appealed to citizens to cooperate and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience during the restrictions.
