Hyderabad: A tragic incident occurred when a young woman fell from a balcony in an attempt to avoid being seen by her father.
Sakina Begum, aged 22, was identified as the victim. The event happened last week in an area monitored by the Kollur police.
The flat where the incident took place belongs to Sakina’s father and was unoccupied at the time. Sakina and her friend, Ali, also 22, decided to spend time there. Their plans changed unexpectedly when her father arrived at the flat.
The father found the door locked from the inside and tried to get in. Realizing who was outside, Sakina and Ali grew anxious.
In a bid to leave unnoticed, they attempted to climb down from the eighth-floor balcony. According to the SHO of Kollur Police, Ali held Sakina’s hand as she tried to reach the seventh floor. Sadly, she lost her grip and fell, dying instantly.
After the fall, police filed a case against Ali, accusing him of culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The investigation continues to understand why Sakina attempted to escape in such a risky manner.
