Hyderabad: On Saturday, K Chandrashekar Rao, the president of the BRS, called all senior party leaders, including MPs, MLAs, and MLCs, to an important meeting at Telangana Bhavan on Sunday.
KCR plans to set a strategy to defend Telangana’s rights in the water sharing of the Krishna and Godavari rivers. He also aims to boost political activities, such as holding public gatherings, before the MPTC, ZPTC, and municipal elections.
The BRS leader is motivating party members and legislators to achieve a strong victory in the local elections expected in 2026. Party officials stated that KCR is pleased with the BRS’s performance in the recent Gram Panchayat elections and wishes to maintain this success in future elections.
The BRS executive meeting will assess the current situation of water sharing disputes and the Telangana government’s actions to protect state interests in the Polavaram-Nallamala Sagar link project by Andhra Pradesh.
The meeting will also address the disqualification of 10 defected BRS MLAs. Five MLAs, whose disqualification petitions were recently dismissed by the Speaker, are not expected to attend. Additionally, five other defected MLAs with pending disqualification petitions will also be absent. Previously, Assembly Speaker G Prasad Kumar rejected the disqualification petitions against T Venkat Rao, A Gandhi, Krishnamohan Reddy, Prakash Goud, and G Mahipal Reddy.
