A large-scale anti-encroachment operation is currently underway in Ameenpur as HYDRAA (Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency) conducts demolitions under heavy police security. The operation is being carried out in coordination with Revenue and Municipal officials to reclaim government land worth over ₹15,000 crores in Ailapuram village of Sangareddy district. HYDRAA has taken special measures to ensure that homes within Ailapuram Thanda and the village’s poor residents remain undisturbed during the operation.
The demolition drive has targeted illegal constructions built in violation of court orders and without proper permits. HYDRAA demolished the Mukheem Guest House, which was constructed despite a court stay order dating back to 1998 that mandated maintenance of status quo. Additionally, a 6-story building constructed by Mukheem’s brother, Azeem, without any necessary permits was also razed during the operation. Both structures were built on government land in clear violation of legal directives.
According to official information, Ailapuram village in Ameenpur Mandal contains a total of 1,263 acres of government land. A significant number of residential structures have already been established on portions of this land. The government is now working to safeguard the remaining 860 acres of government land while ensuring that existing residential areas of poor families remain protected and undisturbed during the encroachment removal process.
During the demolition of Azeem’s 6-story building, which was vacant and illegally constructed, the developer allegedly attempted to create a false impression of occupancy. Tenants were hastily moved into the building on the spot to prevent demolition. However, HYDRAA officials proceeded with evicting the occupants and clearing the encroachment as the structure had no legal authorization for construction.
The operation demonstrates a careful approach to land protection while maintaining sensitivity toward vulnerable populations. HYDRAA is specifically taking possession of vacant land parcels and illegal structures, while deliberately avoiding any interference with residences in the Thanda and homes of poor families in Ailapuram. The agency has ensured that no action is taken against legitimate homes within the settlement areas.
The estimated value of the 863-acre land parcel being protected through this operation exceeds ₹15,000 crores. The demolition drive continues with coordination between HYDRAA, Revenue officials, and Municipal authorities, backed by substantial police deployment to maintain law and order during the encroachment removal process in Ameenpur.
